FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does your warranty system work?

Email me a photo of the part that has broken or is defective and I’ll ship you a new one free of charge (you pay shipping).  What I usually do is give you a code that identifies the broken part but is used to place a new order of the figure in question. This way I know exactly which figure and exactly which part to ship (and where).

Note: If you purchased any of my 1/6 scale (large) figures between June 1st, 2017- December 8th 2023, your purchase came with a lifetime warranty. Smaller figures (1/12 scale) come with a 12 month warranty.  Starting December 8th 2023 all figures will not come with a warranty  unless the customer chooses to purchase it from the drop-down menu.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, as of May 2021 you can now purchase products in installments of four equal payments. This is powered through shopPay and affirm (purple pay button during checkout)  You pay no additional cost or interest and, instead, Armature Nine incurs the expense.

What's the difference between Rider & Ranger?

In terms of articulation, Ranger has articulated hands whereas Riders have block shaped hands. Articulated hands are available for Riders to purchase separately but they are slightly oversized and have 5 fewer points of articulation compared to Ranger's hands.  Other than this, the biggest difference is their size (Ranger is ±12" and Rider is ±6") and consequently their weight, fragility and ease of use.

Both have magnets on hands and feet, however Ranger has three on each foot. Rider has only a single magnet on the toe. The design allows for the magnet to reach the tip of the toe so you can do tip-toe stances.

Do you ship internationally?

Our website: Currently we are shipping everywhere in the world, however it's important to keep in mind we ship the figures ourselves using the United States Postal Service with DAP (Delivery/Duty at Place). This means you'll be responsible for collecting your package upon arrival in your country and paying the import taxes imposed by your nation (Value Added Tax).

When the tracking reaches your nation it switches to your nation's tracking system so you'll need to communicate with your country's public postal service to get further details.

On Etsy: If you purchase a figure via Etsy, then Etsy handles the entire tariff and charges you in advance for it (assuming your cart doesn't exceed $150). Hoping this will come soon to shopify also.

Can I get replacement parts or add-ons?

Yes! You can find individual replacement pieces for each figure here:

Replacement 1/12 pieces (Small) can be found here
Replacement 1/6 pieces (Large) can be found here.

Please note that as of December 10th 2023 all pieces have been made available and may take up to 30 days to ship.

I’d like to feature your products in some commercial photography and video works I’m doing. Do I need to pay a licensing fee for this?

Nope! In fact, I encourage you to use these products for your commercial projects, whether you use it as reference, or feature it as-is. I'd love a credit, but it’s not necessary. You don’t even need my permission. It’s kind of the point of the figure as it’s meant to be a tool for creative people. The only thing you can’t do with A9 is make physical or digital replicas of the figure or parts, that’s my job and how I keep the lights on :)  Design appropriation is also not permitted (taking my design and appropriating it as your own). For questions or clarifications reach me at store(at)armaturenine(com).

How long will it take to get my order?

As of April 2023 in-stock purchases made here on this website ship the following work day (unless you've requested it to be customized, in which case it may take longer depending on the complexity of your request). Pre-orders are now listed separately and like custom orders might take up to 30 days to ship. Puchasing individual pieces are also considered pre-orders and may take several days before shipping (depending on the complexity of your order).

Are you ever going to manufacture them through more conventional means?

As funds allow I'm trying to transition to using molds. This may take years given the expense involved. But I'm making steady progress. That means that these figures continue to be of a very limited edition nature. The figure you get, is likely only going to be one of dozens in existence because of the way in which they are constantly changing and being iterated on. Once molds are made for all pieces, they will likely become fixed.

Do you offer discounts for bulk orders?

Actually, yes! If you or your institution plans on purchasing ten or more of a-kind, you can score anywhere between a 10% to a 30% discount. The details are in this blog post:

Will the figure get loose over time?

Figures from earlier iterations (2023 and prior) may get loose in places. This has largely been addressed in the newer 2024 version. To tighten those joints you can coat them with a thin layer of liquid super glue, let it dry fully and then re-assemble. Fitting should be like new or tighter.
